3:22: defeat Anybody who strives will know defeat
victory and defeat both part a well designed strategic posture
if you reaching for anything past the given, you must accept occasional defeat
there is defeat that is just positioning for the comeback, and then there is
defeat from which there is no comeback,
the killing zone is a failure of strategy
the hammer hath fallen - bes that way sometime
hunker down, establish your baseline, fight your way back
step by step, inch by inch, slowly we turn
happiness, satisfaction, joy, states of mind, you decide that you are and you are.
you have learned a powerful lesson, you have gained a magical armor
calm acceptance of trial and tribulation, lessons extracted
success and failure are relative, enjoy the journey -
it is only in retrospect that judgement can be made
continue to strive you never lose
there has been no defeat like the encirclement of africa: arabs to the north and the east,
british to the west, Portugal to the soul and the east, from the south the british & the boers
tribe by tribe the blacks were pushed back into the great migrations
cut off from the sea, their societies decimated by the slavetrade wars
the strong tribes of africa took the lion upon their shields,
some tribes became slavers, some became their slaves
on every hand traditional african institutions fell before the invaders
the african way of war to get in close for hand to hand suicided charging norden machinegun
posts while traditional African religions crumbled before the aggressive religions of the desert
the african economy was destroyed by slavery and forced wagelabor.
african governing systems were coopted by colonial authorities.
yet colonialism bred its own demise in the rise of the modernized africans who were
successfully able to use its own skills against it as counterelites. the azikiwes, nyeres,
sengors and toures, the nkrumahs, the kenyattas and the mandelas.
all these folk have at some time in their lives been broken
being broken does not reflect on ultimate worth
anybody can be broken, including you, especially you
you reach too high, o pilgrim, not to fall
dust yourself off & try again
